Ready for Spring!

So January and February are my least favorite months of the year...
but don't tell Cayson that because he thinks January should be my favorite month since that was the month that he was born!
But I am not going to lie, I am so happy it is officially March!
We have had a lot of fun since my last post, and I am excited to share a few pictures.

In May, Grandpa flew to Cincinnati and Gary, Cayson and Grandpa drove to Santee Cooper, SC to catfish for several days. They then drove to Abbeville, GA and went down memory lane exploring the town that Grandpa's mom, Katie, grew up in.

In June, Dongo came out to Cincinnati to visit us. He went to the zoo with the kids and I, which I think managing 3 kids and a double stroller thru the crowd was the real zoo for him! Then he treated Gary to front row seats at the Cincinnati Reds game.

In July the Manning Family came out and stayed with us for a week! Cayson and Mason had a blast together. They went bowling, the zoo, Coney Island, frog catching and raccoon trapping just to name a few of the many fun activities that were packed in to one week.

Rammy came out for three weeks in July/August and it was so nice to have the extra help. I even went by myself to Delray Beach, FL for a few days to visit my friend Kat.

This school year has been flying by! Cayson is in all day kindergarten and Kinsley started pre-school in December.

In October, we went to Las Vegas for the Alcantra Family Reunion and to celebrate Nana's birthday, Aunt Neva's birthday, and Easton's 1st birthday!

I love our little lady bug, monkey and bumble bee transformer!

Auntie Molli and her boyfriend Mark came out to Cincinnati over Thanksgiving weekend. We enjoyed a yummy turkey dinner, chopping down our Christmas tree and going to the festival of lights at the zoo!

Christmas morning was a blast as usual! It is so fun having little kids on this holiday!
The wrapping paper flying around and their little squeals and smiles on their faces are priceless.

Gary went bird hunting with his dad and Dongo in Arizona the first week of January!
Picture coming soon...

We all had a blast at Cayson's 6th birthday party!

Gary, Cayson and Kinsley spent the month of January trapping raccoons.
They managed to trap 7 raccoons and 1 possum too!

Three (make that four) Little Blessings!

We have been having so much fun lately! Gary has had an easy rotation the last couple of months which has given us some much needed time together. The weather has been perfect for as long as I can remember. But most importantly we have three special blessings that keep us going!

Blessing #1

Blessing #2

Blessing #3

Okay, I can't leave Doc out...he is our blessing #4 and the best dog.

In January, Cayson turned 5 years old. Wow! Gary's Mom and Aunt Mud were in town and helped make his day extra special. Rammy made yummy dirt/worm cupcakes, Aunt Mud snuggled Easton and helped chase after Kinsley. Gary and I decorated the house and put up a pinata and pin the tail on the donkey. After pre-school all of his buddies came over and boy did we celebrate! It was 90 minutes of non-stop, chaotic, and intense fun (if you catch my drift). :-)

We got Cayson a raccoon trap for Christmas and one evening in February the boys set their trap and had a raccoon in it the very next morning!

Cayson is in the dog house!!! Cayson will sit outside for hours with his BB Gun hoping to get a shot at something. He killed a Dove and we all ate him for dinner one night...he was proud to provide for his family.

Both Kinsley and Easton had their first hair cut recently. Gary shaved Easton's baby hair off on Feb. 6th, and then on March 11th we went to Great Clips and had Kinsley's hair trimmed.

Easton is starting to eat baby food...and his big sister loves to take care of him.

Gary had a week off in March, so we packed up all three kids and experienced our first family of five vacation! We went to the Smokey Mountains and stayed in Gaitlinburg, TN. It was so beautiful there!

We also went to the Creation Museum in Kentucky during Gary's vacation week; there was a great petting zoo there and Cayson got to ride a Camel!

Cayson is becoming quite the fisherman! He caught the bass in the picture below all by himself! Gary was impressed with his reeling skills and grateful the pole & Cayson didn't fall over the rail in the process!

Cayson also caught a bunch of tadpoles at the lake and some slugs in our backyard...so the next day he decided to have a slug and tadpole stand. He sold some tadpoles to the neighborhood girls, and talked his dad into buying a slug & tadpole too. Overall another pretty successful day! 1 slug at $.25 plus 6 tadpoles at $.30 each = $2.10.

Cayson and Kinsley had a lot of fun participating in three egg hunts this Easter. Easton wanted to get his hands on a few eggs too! And I love the picture of my handsome husband and three cute kids all dressed up for Church on Easter Sunday.

Cayson had a field trip for pre-school at Sunrock Farms. It was a special Mom/Son Day! We got to milk a goat, hold a chicken, and pet lots of farm animals.
Love the chick on his head :-).

Happy Spring!

Hooray the Holidays!

I love Christmas! Having kids makes this time of year so magical! We love to decorate the Christmas tree, visit Santa, make cookies, etc.

December also means a busy month of birthdays for our family. Dec. 6th, 12th, and 16th we take time out of our Christmas celebrations to celebrate Gary, Kim and Kinsley's birthdays.

Easton Gary Wilcox

It's a boy!!! Our new little addition arrived on October 25th at 1:38pm. He was a big boy weighing in at 9 lbs. 8 oz. and 20 inches long! Thank goodness for c-sections! We think he is a mix between Cayson and Daddy. Cayson was so happy it was a boy and said "my wish came true" when he found out the news. We are so crazy about him and have enjoyed the last few days at the hospital, but now we are excited to get him home and start our life as a family of 5. We are so grateful for my mom and sister who have been home for the last few days taking care of Cayson and Kinsley so we could spend some time with our baby #3. The last several months have flown by! Gary was on the trauma rotation for July and August which is one of the busiest rotations he will have over his 4 year residency. We were glad to get those months out of the way before Easton got here.

The weekend of August 19-21 we went to St. Joseph, MI and enjoyed a couple of days at the beach with the kids. Lake Michigan is beautiful and the beaches are like ocean beaches. Cayson loved going into the water and playing in the waves with his dad. He also liked getting buried in the sand and building a sand castle. Kinsley was afraid to put her feet in the sand and hung on to her dad for dear life every time he tried to set her down.
Gary's dad drew an antelope tag this year, so on August 30th Gary and Kinsley flew out to Reno for a week. Kinsley hung out with her Nana, Rammy, Aunties, Uncles, and Cousins while Gary went out hunting with his dad and buddies. Big Gary killed a nice antelope towards the beginning of their hunt which gave Gary time to visit with family and friends the rest of the week. Cayson and I stayed behind and had a great Mommy/Son week. We went to the movies, Chuck E. Cheese, bowling, shopping, dinners, out for ice cream every day, and then Uncle Cole drove up from Atlanta for the weekend and went with us to the museum and down to Newport on the Levee to Ride the Ducks which is a fun tour around the city. Cayson had a lot of fun with his Uncle Cole jumping on the trampoline and renting movies. Our last outing with only two kids was on October 15th when we drove down to Lexington, KY to visit old friends from dental school and go to the horse races! Fun times!
Here are the kids dressed up and ready to go trick or treating! They don't look too excited, but when they came back to the house with two bags full of candy there were smiles on their faces!
